About GEC Idukki

The Government Engineering College, Idukki (GECI), was established in the year 2000 under the Directorate of Technical Education Government of Kerala. The college is currently affiliated to APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University(APJKTU) and is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi. The institute offers undergraduate programmes in Electrical & Electronics, Electronics & Communication, Mechanical, Information Technology and Computer Science branches and postgraduate programmes in Power Electronics and Con¬trol, VLSI and Embedded systems, Network Engineering and Computer Science. The scenic 25-acre campus is located at Kuyilimala, Painavu, headquarters of the Idukki district. The cool and picturesque environs of the Idukki wildlife sanctuary located in close proximity to the campus is ideal for the pursuit of higher education. The Idukki Dam, one of the highest arch dams in Asia is just 7 km from the campus

About ICCISc-2021.

International Conference on Communication, Control and Information Sciences (ICCISc-2021) is organized by Govt. Engineering College (GEC) Idukki and technically co-sponsored by IEEE Kerala Section and IEEE Industry Applications Society (IAS). For the extreme con-venience of the participants the conference will be conducted in a fully-virtual mode from 16/06/2021 to 18/06/2021. The main objective of this conference is to bring leading academi-cians, researchers, working professionals, practitioners and research scholars around the globe together onto a unique platform for sharing their innovations, experiences and research observa¬tions from diverse domains of Electrical, Electronics, Computer and Information Sciences. We aim to create a world-class interdisciplinary platform to foster a strong relationship among in¬dustry, academia and research thereby bridging the gaps among industry initiatives, academic learning and research. We anticipate that ICCISc-2021 will provide a unique experience to the participants across the globe and will contribute significantly to the existing knowledge base re¬lated to the thematic areas of the conference.

    Guidelines for the Preparation of Pre-Recorded Presentations of ICCISc 2021

    Being an online virtual conference, in order to ensure uninterrupted and hassle-free conduct of the various sessions of the conference, the presenting authors should submit their pre-recorded presentations on or before 1st June 2021. While preparing the PPT and recorded presentation, the following guidelines shall be followed.

    1. The maximum duration of the presentation should be 10 minutes (an extra 3 minutes will be given for Q/A and discussion).

    2. The presenting author must be present during his scheduled time of presentation and participate in the Q/A and discussion session at the end of the screening of his/her pre-recorded presentation. The author can also present the paper at the scheduled time if he/she desires so.

    3. All the contributory oral presenters should refer to the conference presentation schedule (which will be uploaded to the conference website on 5th June 2021) for their allotted time slot (the time is shown in Indian Standard Time (IST) – UTC + 5.30).

    4. There is no fixed format for the Power point presentation. But, the following requirements must be incorporated.

            1. The conference name and logo should be added in the presentation slides.

            2. The title of the paper and name and affiliation of the presenting author should be indicated in the first slide.

            3. Each slide should be concise, uncluttered and readable from a distance (minimum 24 font size for text and minimum 30 font size for titles).

            4. Better, avoid packed descriptive text in slides (preferably use only key words and phrases for visual reinforcement).

            5. Should not include embedded videos in slides

            6. Insert< ICCISc 2021>_PaperID (e.g., ICCISc 2021_p144) in the first and last slides

            7. Insert slide numbers in all slides except first slide

            8. You can refer to the sample ppt which is available on the conference website.

    5. The pre-recorded presentation video (.MPEG-4 format) should contain a prominent view of the presentation slides along with audio of the presenter. The recording must also contain a small headshot of the presenter. The following guidelines may be followed.

            1. The duration of presentation should be for a maximum of 10 minutes.

            2. Video should be clear and legible with minimum file size (less than 50MB).

            3. Save the video file in the name format: _.mp4 (e.g., p144.mp4)

            4. The presentation can be recorded using any of the available software for that purpose.

    Instructions for Recording

    The easiest way to prepare your presentation video will be to subscribe to the free version of Zoom and use it to record your presentation video. A 10 minute presentation should be well below 50MB.

    Alternately, you can use Voice-over-PowerPoint (available in PowerPoint 2016 & 2019) and create a PPTSX file. Then Export to MP4. Note the generated MP4 by PPT Save-As is typically quite large and will likely need to be compressed to meet the size limit of 50MB for author uploads. Be sure to verify that the audio is included as there have been problems with PPT recordings. See the Microsoft support article

    Please check the recording for quality and understandability, and for timing, as it needs to fit into the specified duration. We recommend using a headset so you won’t get laptop fan noise etc. in the recording.
